Alice Cooper's tourney lures mix of celebrities
Apr. 10, 2003 12:00 AM

What could decathlon Olympian Bruce Jenner and Adrian Young of No Doubt (2003 Grammy winner of Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal) have in common? They both like to play golf. And they were both in the Valley this week.

The two recognizables joined the eclectic mix of celebs for Alice Cooper's golf tournament at Desert Ridge Resort & Spa. The three-day extravaganza benefits the Solid Rock Foundation. The foundation's mission is to honor Christ by providing financial assistance to teens and children in the community.

From Kevin Sorbo (Hercules) to Chris Kirkpatrick ('N Sync) to Tico Torres (Bon Jovi), the stars hit the greens and partied in between. Coye Pointer, general manager of Airpark Chrysler Jeep in Scottsdale, has rubbed elbows with stars at this event for the past four years. The dealership, for which Alice does commercials, donated a 2003 PT Cruiser that sold for $21,000 in the auction. The Cruiser that Alice is now driving retails for more than that, as he has added several special features to give it a more retro '40s look.

Better see what he can do with your delusions of grandeur, too, while you're there.

You're starting to remind me of a tractor trash gentleman who used to frequent here a while back who went by the name of Capt Midnight
