Another good source of help may be the Web. This page is dedicated to "slammed" sport trucks, but it seems to have a lot of info on air bags and a fairly active MB on air ride:

Air Up.

It's always good to ask those who use the same type of product that you do. A Web search might turn up more resources and perhaps even fellow air baggers who don't live terribly far from you. Again, good luck.

Thanks man. I have the new fittings but still have to remove the old ones, put in the new ones, splice wires back in and connect hoses.

But it's getting close now...

3/8" new fitting is in. However, the 1/4" piece has a much more complicated setup and is MUCH tighter. We used a vise to hold it to a table and then I held it so it wouldn't twist and my brother tried to loosen it with the wrench, but we got nowhere. We were told ONE person tightened it by hand, so unless he's Superman, the frickin' Hulk or God, that's not being truthful.

the Hulk is a little busy right now, what with the movie coming out and all...

God & Superman doesn't work on cars, so it should come off...

take a deep breath, calm down and try it again... very gently try tapping the valve while you're trying to loosen the fitting... just don't beat it to death...

Got a friend who'll help me out tonight. He's small like me but much stronger...so we should be able to get it. Good thing about clipping the wires and pulling the whole assembly out is I can bring it in the house or take it across town for help.

From now on, I do all my own work unless there's NO way to...this PT has been a very valuable learning experience.

Well hopefully it's all up and running leak free, but just incase here's another suggestion you probably already know. When your testing for leaks go around from connection to connection and brush some soapy water on it and watch for bubbles forming.

The best thing about working on your own car is that you develop such an intimate knowledge of everything you do you can usually discover and resolve an issue before it becomes too big.

Let us know how it works out.

Got remaining tough fitting out. Some friends had better tools and it made a huge difference. Gonna put it all back in the car tomorrow and test. If ANY other old fittings leak, I'm gonna replace them ALL (all remaining old ones) to eliminate any more potential leaks. But I hope I won't have to...

So do I, RN. That who "air ride" experience has been kinda expensive for you, it seems to me. Good to have friends with good tools!

Yeah and funny thing is...it's a tool in the tool set I was considering buying for use on this car about 2 weeks ago. The new fittings cost me a total of $16 (splitting fittings [3] and the brass ones [2]). Today I put it all back in the car...
