Are the fog lamp bulbs the same as the lows in the headlights? What is the wattage for the fog lamp bulbs?? Im going to get some new xenon bulbs that are 55 watts for the fogs, is this ok??

Yeah There both the same wattage, I dont like Xenon. But I Recommend the Slyvania SilverStars - Those bulbs are really bright. I got them in the Fogs and Lows, not high yet. The fog and lows are the same and they would be as 9006 ST for fogs but the low would be the 9006 but i got the 9006ST for the lows too and it works great.

This is a mod that I've been contemplating too. Is it easy to change the bulbs? What kind of work is involved? Also, do the fog lights have to be white? (I'm kind of partial to purple ya know! )

Thanks!

Kat

55's will work fine.

DO NOT out in 80W'ers!!! You will melt the harness and tinge the inside of the lens (which is rad-hardened plastic.)

Easy to swap bulbs- make sure you get the ones with an ELBOW, not the straight-through, for the fogs. A splash sheild will cause probs with the straight ones.

So the low and high beam lights need the straight ones, but the fog lights use the elbow lights?

Yes, BUT, I have the elbow ones in all 6 locations!! Its a tight squeeze and you HAVE to make sure the lows/highs go in ALL THE WAY (twisting) otherwise they will appear miss-aimed.

There is a thin gasket at the socket on the headlights- it will compress enough for the elbow so those bulbs go in.

PACK SOME peroxide AND bad-aids- you WILL scrape 4 knuckles- GUARANTEED!! (or dbl your money back).

Kat

Go for the SilverStars.
They are a true white bulb and headlights look like crystals with them in it.

Stay away from colored bulbs in fog lamps (cop magnet) I had yellow ones but went back to white. Looks better from my end and from the front...
