Default Mud Guards for Dummies

I purchased the Chrysler mud guards for my bee-yoo-tiful almond Cruiser, but I admit I am a novice and don't really know how to install them. I don't want to do any damage to my beloved PT, so does anyone know of a site where they give step-by-step instructions on this for those of us that are less than vehicularly inclined???

By the way, they are for the rear of the car.

I also bought the mudguards for the back fenders. I too am vehicularly challenged, but was able to install them by following the instructions included in the package. Actually I had to retrieve the instructions from the box which luckily I had thrown out in the recycle bin!

Good Luck!

Undo the botton 2 screws that hold the wheel well liner in. (7mm socket I think)

Line up the flaps, with its PRE-DRILLED holes to those 2 spots, replace those 2 screws.

I dod NOT use the bottom ones, very few people that I know have either.

Done... total time- 3 minutes.

Sean

Hi, my wife's '02 PT will arrive in the next 4 weeks or so. Can someone tell me if the base PT comes with front mudflaps standard or do I need to buy all 4? I'd like to have stuff ready to install when the car gets here. Thanks.

Are they cute little gray contoured flaps like on the ft?

Yup. They save the bottom back part of the fender from flying stones, mud, and other assorted yucky things.

I did the same as Sean - used the two existing holes only. I really couldn't bare to take a drill to my beloved car! I could have hurt her.

The instructions are on the back of the package (at least here in Canada)
Take your mud flap (make sure you select the right one for the side that you are doing), line it up in your wheel well where you want to place it. They should be on top of two existing screws. Use a hammer and gently tap on the mud flap )on top of the two screws). This will mark the two position of where you should drill your mud flaps. Unscrew the existing screws, slip on the flaps..screw back on....3 - 5 minutes gone by. Repeat for other flaps.
Piece of cake (mud cake that is)

Marc
