Mud Guards for Dummies

:/ARE YOU GUYS TALKING ABOUT THE MOLDED "PT LOGOED" REAR MUDFLAPS? scince I added wheel well chrome (PT Woody kit)The molded pt flaps couldn't fit....so I returned them. I guess now I'll have to look for another type...[b]Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks! :/

I installed painted mud flaps on my inferno red PT. Sure looks nice. I did use the third screw on mine, but I used a little touch-up paint on it and you can't even tell its there.

I have the wheel well molding (not Woody's, home grown). I lined up the flaps against the wheel well, determined where they would meet, and using a (hummmm) box cutter, trimmed the molding, removed the lower portion, and installed the flaps.

Thanks everyone for your tips. I don't feel so intimidated now. I just want my baby to look cool -- without any pain!!! I will probably do it this weekend. I'll let you know how it goes.

Undo the botton 2 screws that hold the wheel well liner in. (7mm socket I think)

Line up the flaps, with its PRE-DRILLED holes to those 2 spots, replace those 2 screws.

I dod NOT use the bottom ones, very few people that I know have either.

Done... total time- 3 minutes.

Ditto here for install, and as far as the bottom screws go; whats with those clips? What is their purpose and how are they installed? The generic diagram doesn't really help. Soooooo,,,,,,,,,, used a small piece of 3-M double-sided tape for the bottom, worked like a charm.

One of the first things I did to my PT was to install the molded mud flaps. Like others, I only used the existing screws and holes. After a lifetime of drilling and beating on old cars I hesitate to do the same to the Cruiser; if necessary, I will drill the holes under the fender later. The flaps look very cool, and IMHO, should have been standard from the factory, to match the front.

its for a hole at the bottmo that you have to drill into the plastic. The clip provides a metallic receiver for the screw threads. OPTIONAL in my books.
