Default The waiting is killing me!

Ok so it's only been a week since I placed my order for my PT Cruiser Company car and I'm already becoming impatient.

I called the office and spoke to the woman who handles the company cars. I asked her "Is it here yet?" then I asked her "Is it here yet?"then I asked her "Is it here yet?" then I asked her "Is it here yet?" then I asked her "Is it here yet?" then I asked her "Is it here yet?"

Ok so I'm fixated.....I cant handle waiting 6 to 8 weeks...Auuuuurrrgh!

Look at it this way, if the waiting doesn't kill you she probably will!

Oh honey, it's only going to get worse! That's why we're here. Come vent. Come scream. Come kick some virtual DC butt.

Little story:
Ordered March 16th. Originally told late June delivery. Oops! 5spd material restriction. Delivery: July/August Uh-oh! Touring material restriction. By Labour Day. Umm...nope. By Christmas for sure, hopefully Halloween.

Cranbaby was built Sept 14. Shipped Sept 21, arrived in Ajax, Ontario railyard Sept 24. This is the kicker after my 6 month wait: She sat at the railyard waiting for a full truck until October 16. Ajax is 45 minutes from my home and only 10 minutes from my dealer. Unfortunately, she was the one to start the truck, so she had to wait until enough cars showed up to fill the trailer. Finally tally: I waited 7 months, 4 days and 16 hours until she was mine. (And even then I was at work and had to wait 10 hours before I could drive her!)

I didn't have the longest wait by far. (Hey guys, didn't PT KRUZN win that one? I think it was a year for her!) But we all know where you are. And admitting you have a problem is the first step.

The wait is because its a company car maybe? A fleet order?
6 to 8 weeks is nothing compared to some of the waits people have had. It's a shame your company can't just go buy one off a lot. I've seen them around the Wash DC area for up to $300 under MSRP. Good luck you'll love it when you get it. Part of the fun is the wait!

Ordered (and put down a grand right then) on 4/28/00.

Took delivery on 3/28/01.

Reasons not to sweat the wait:

1.) It'll take you six to eight weeks just to go over the brilliant observations posted by all the PT Enthusiasts around here!

2.) It'll take you six to eight weeks to comb every store in a 50-mile radius for those wonderful toys!

3.) It'll take you six to eight weeks to learn how to properly wash and wax (I found out I didn't know ANYTHING about that subject 'til I got here)!

4.) It'll take you six to eight weeks to get to 1,000 posts on this site!

See, six to eight weeks is just a blink. Better get moving, you've got a lot to do to get ready!

The waiting period is like initiation. I ordered April 17th 2000 and waited a LONG 16 weeks for my baby. I visited Wally World on a weekly basis looking for PT toys - up here in the GWN, we did not have too many toys to choose from. I drove people at work absolutely MAD during the waiting period. I managed to hold my self back from calling my dealer to ask "is it here yet" down to once every 2 weeks. Let me tell you, the wait was worth it!

Lately, I've been getting a lot of looks, more than usual. I wonder why? SLIK is now just over a year old with about just over 24,000 kms on her.

Have fun waiting, and BTW, keep weekend of June 21st open....
