Default Lighted windshield washer ticket update

When I got my ticket for the lighted windshield washers I thought that was a bunch of crap. That's what I told the cop that gave me the ticket. So I decided to fight the ticket. I wrote a letter to the court and explained that I had them on the Cruiser for 2 years and never had a problem. Did not know they were not legal. I told them I did disconnect them and put them on a switch. I also sent in pictures of the lights in question. Showing them that is no way my Cruiser could mistakin for a police car.

So today I got a letter in the mail from the court
This is what is said
"Your letter of explanation has been received by the court. After review you have been found responsible. Fines and costs have been waived and the case is closed"

That made me so happy that I did not have to pay one cent on this ticket

Congrats on winning the case and having the whereas to stick up for what you believe. When I was reading their reply and came to the part where they said your "responsible", I thought the next sentence was going to throw the book at ya. Good thing they explained it.

Great news. Glad to hear that common sense prevailed.

Congrats--but not to be a downer but play it safe in your town in the future. The Judge was sending you a message that you got away this time but not the next time--by finding you 'responsible' he found you guilty but as a good jesture the court tossed the fines etc....kinda of like one free shot since you didn't know they were illegal.....very kewl Judge.
