Default Mobil 1 15W-50 for Turbos - What do you use?

I use Mobil 1® With SuperSyn™ Formula 15W-50

This is what their web site says:

Benefits of Mobil 1 with SuperSyn™ 15W-50:

Excellent for supercharged and turbocharged engines, muscle cars and amateur racers.
The highest viscosity Mobil 1 available.
Race proven.
Superior high-temperature protection for high-performance and high-revving cars. Contains extra SuperSyn™ anti-wear system.
Mobil 1 with SuperSyn™ 15W-50 is factory fill in Ford Mustang Cobra R.
Exceeds API SL/CF.
Exceeds ACEA A3/B3/B4-02

Since the PT takes 5 quarts, I use 3 of the above and 2 of 10w 30. As summer gets closer, I will use 5 of the above.

I would follow the manufacturer's recommendation for viscosity for the conditions you drive in. Using a higher viscocity oil will not help you in any way and could reduce performance and gas mileage. I do recommend using synth though.

This is true for regular oil, but not synthetic. I called Mobil 1.

I race both 1/4 mile and Solo II for the SCCA.......

I have run 0W-30 synthetic for several years now.
I have documented that the 0W-30 will allow the engine to rev faster with less internal rotating friction.

An oil change can make the track times a few hundredths lower.

I use either Mobil-1 or Amsoil.
I change oil on the street cars every 2K miles and twice a season on the race cars. ( they get about 4 tanks of gas per year )

These are only the opinions of a career mechanic who owns a performance shop.

Viscosity is viscosity no matter what you are measuring, Mobil 1 or pancake syrup. That is why they have the viscosity ratings. It is to measure the flow potential of fluids (I think an engineer could explain this better than I). If Mobil 1 is telling you that the ratings do not apply to them then they have a problem with their oil (not likely) and should not be publishing ratings in viscosity for their products. We have to be able to rely on this information.
