Default spark plug wires

I was looking at my plug wires the other day and noticed i have 3 straight boots and 1 angled boot. Are all PT's like this? Just wondering if I go aftemarket if they would ship the same. Thanks

Dunno yet - I ordered Crane wires from RaceAndStreet - are you getting a miss/stumble? I have 40,000 + miles and think my wires have had it. I replaced the plugs with Champion platinum plugs a while ago, but don't remember how the boots were.

I too will let you know when my new wires come from Revel Enterprises next week. I've been reading all of the posts about wires going bad, and I do have just a bit of a stumble, especially when backing up...go figure that one....I figured it was something with the transmission, but then noticed it when at low RPM going forward from a stop. Then all of you helpful folks started pointing out the stumbling issue and the wires, so I am going with that advise.

I just received a set of Mopar Performance wires from an eBay auction. ($35) They all have an angled connector at the top and none of them have an angled spark plug end. They're marked 1, 2, 3 and 4, with 1 and 4 being long, then 2 and 3 being short.

These came with a little packet of silicone grease. Wouldn't dielectric grease be better, as is recommended on PTDIY.net?

Mine Crane wires from Race&Street arrived - didn't open box - if it's above freezing this weekend I'll put them in and see if stumble goes away.
Gotta love Race And Street - ordered them Friday! Less than a week!

OKAY! Stumble gone. It's the wires. Put in the Crane wires (8.5mm) Saturday, drove 100+ miles today flawlessly. Left plugs alone (Champion platinums) and left battery alone, just to isolate that it was the wires. All my stock wires had straight boots at distributor end, all the Crane wires had right angle boots at the distributor!! Once I had the wires routed properly, I put 2 tie wraps (1 for each pair) to keep wires from moving.
I suspect that new stock wires would've done as well - I hope to get more life from the Crane wires.

BraytonAK,

Silicone grease=Dialectric grease. You just want a light smear of this on the inside of the spark plug boot to help them seal so moisture and crap doesn't get in and corrode your terminal.

I also coated the outside of the boots that go deep into the head recess w/dielectric grease so the rubber doesn't stick.

Have not had mine off yet, only 17k miles, did not know the boots fit down in there that tight. Good suggestion...
