Just noticed that this post is no longer on the PTCC site. Did you remove it or were you censored by others????

I am confused. I click on the link for the pasite.from the PTCC site...shows nothing but links back to the ptcc?
Don't see Jody's links there?
When I go to Jody's site, I can click on the link provided and it shows Jody's links on a page that says it is the pasite? But there is nothing else on the pasite?
I quess I need someone to provide me with an addy or a link to the correct paptcc site?
Is this clear as mud?
Either way this blows.

How does one "steal links" from a website? This doesn't make sense at all.

Someone can copy them, ...
I too am confused. I am guilty of RIGHT CLICKING a site, gobbling some code or a link or a path to a picture, but have never it considered it stealing ....

Now- it may have been VERY inconsiderate to use your exact code, without acknowledging you. Afterall, YOU have done ALL the work gathering those links, not someone else.

Perhaps an email DIRECTLY to this person explaining your displeasure may help- something calm, reserved. At least give him/her a chance to come clean. Then, if all else fails, FORUM it. (I tried that with my damn chrome fender inserts that never would have fit- gave them a chance before I flamed them).

Just my $0.02, trying to keep peace in cyber-space..

P.S.- I like the links site- hope to see it back on-line soon.

Ok, if I understand correctly, nobody "hacked into and stole their code." Someone copied the html, which anyone can do. Jody took the site down in protest. Sheesh! A little better communication would have gone a very long way, Jody. Why stir everyone up like that?

Default what?

well I found the correct ptccpasite. Sean, you make a good case.
Jody has been around a long time, and put alotta time and hard work into his site.
I did email both. The PA director denied in these words "On a sad note it appears Mr. Jody has alleged I stole code from his
site.First I would like to say I wish I was smart enough to steal code! I
would be elated because that would mean I knew what I was doing in building
a web site."

Wow I compared the links on the PTCC site and the ones on PT Links.

They are the same and in the same order.

I loved this site and put a link to it up quite awhile ago. Put unlike some others I didn't copy their links , just put a link to their site. That is the proper way to do it. It takes a long time to put that much work into a site and have somebody else copy the html and put it on their site !

And no you do not need to be a computer programer to do this, I could do it very easily with my Frontpage 2000. As should be able to do with many other web page creators that are out there !

I have e-mailed LAne and asked for an explanation. Jody, you are a valued member of the PT community as a whole and I have requested this matter be cleared up with you.

I sure hope this is all some sort of unfortunate circumstance and can be resolved amicably.

Good Lord, I don't think my last post was as clear as I would like it to be.
Again, Jody has done alotta work, spent alotta time organizing his links.
He has always been helpful and always polite, as far as I can tell.
Very rude to steal his stuff. When someone copies and pastes an entire BODY of work another has created, makes no mention, nor gives credit to creator..is it not the same as plagiarism?
Plagiarism: to steal and pass off the ideas or words of another as one's own'
to use (a created production) without crediting the source.
Now hopefully it can all be worked out between them.
I emailed them both as well.
Lane clearly denied it. Well someone sure copied Jody's hard and put it on his site. Hmmm

According to PTMike at the PTCC, he's trying to solve the problem. I think Mike should be given a chance to have his director to remove the stolen code. If the PTCC Director wants people to have access to the links all he has to do is set up a link to Jody's site.

Jody has put a lot of time and effort into creating all that code. Since he did the work it is copyrighted under US and international copyright law. Copying it and putting it on another web site is theft.
