Default Stealing car doors on PT's

Well, I missed part of the news last night - but I got a glimpse of a news report of broken car door windows and stealing PT Cruiser doors - now why I don't know they would want the doors. I'm from north of Seattle, WA and I'm not sure where this rash of thefts were reported. Has anyone else heard of this?

Hmmm...someone posted something about it yesterday...how wild is that! I would be so PO'd if I came out and found my windows smashed and door gone!!I almost would prefer the whole car to be taken!

Nope! Are you sure it wasn't a put on? Otherwise it just shows that people will steal anything. Maybe they want to hang on the wall at home?

More likely they will sell them to an unscrupulous autobody shop...

There was about a 10 second clip on the local news last night about a PT that had all 4 doors ripped off. Didn't catch where, and station wasn't running it again on later programs. Car was a Taupe, looked to be at a dealer 'cuz there were other PTs around. Other than doors missing, car appeared intact. I suspect it was stolen, doors taken, then recovered. That's why Guenever does NOT go to the mall!

We've discussed this at work and think they might be after the side airbags. The Club sure wouldn't work in this case. Maybe we could roll down the windows and put bike chains around the doors.

The side airbags are in the outboard sides of the front seats - not the doors.

Hey Kat...

Maybe there will be a RAM truck with some missing doors... that might make you feel better!

Cheer Up Kiddo...
