Default Sean - Ahooga horn wiring directions

Sean,
We somehow misplaced the ahooga horn wiring directions that you gave us a the Falls in June.

Guess that what happens when you wait as LONG as I did to finish the job

I saw some info posted about the a'horn wiring recently ion this forum but can't find it. }

I finally got a new "flat headed bolt" made replace the one I dropped behind the firewall when I tried mounting it last weekend. Never did

A suggestion for anyone installing an a'horn....tape the mounting screw into it place so it doesn't fall out while you putting it in place. It's a special bolt that is NOT available anywhere. Be careful.

NO SEAN.... this is not just another excuse not to get the job done. I've already qualified for Guinness for the longest ahooga horn installation!!!! Ha!!!!

That oughta be wort a few "Lays"!!!!

Pitt, if you're gonna be at the Jersey Cruise, there might be an opportunity to actually help you do the job there. Otherwise, the ptdoityourself site has it.

I've got my horn, and I've got my switch. I don't have relay and wires yet. I was thinking of doing a driver side wheel well + relay installation. What do you think?

Sorry we can't make it to the NJ Shore. Guess I'll mange it by myself. Hope to have it done in time for "FALLS 2002"!!!! Ha!!!!

I'm going to mound my on the right side of the firewall. I have the chrome horn that is available from "Mooneyes". The chrome will help "brighten up" a rather "dull" looking engine compartment!!!

Thanks for the info Sean and all!!!!

where abouts on/in the wheel well? Do you mean in the engine compartment or inside the plastic panel (inner fender) like where the factory horns are on the passenger side??

Inner RH fender behind the plastic panel as described in PTDoItYourself.

This seems like the best location for me because I don't really want to move the clutch reservoir or have my horn melt on the passenger side firewall. Also, it's mostly out of the way of nosey Chrysler service techs.

I'm just wondering how much space is there and what kind of bracket I'll need to make. I haven't found mending straps or mounting bracket yet.

I think that instruction set references REMOVING the stock horns and replacing them!! Your alarm sound is obviously affected!!

I have had the horn on the new location for a couple months in extreme heat, no melting or disformnig at all. Moving the clutch reservoir is nothing. One screw, move it over 2 inches, replace the screw into an existing hole!! No prob (easiest thing that I have EVER done on the PT!!!)

Good luck
