A local Exxon. They know not to come over when they see me because I pump my own gas there. In Jersey the gas stations attendants pump it for you but I don't let anyone touch my cars.

I have tried Mobil, Shell, 76 Union and Chevron. I have a GT Turbo and use only premium. Mobil, Shell, and 76 Union seem to allow detonation (pinging) more than Chevron. I also have a 2002 Vette and it's the same story there, too. So, we stick with Chevron.

Back when I had the old Dodge Daytona Shelby Z with the Turbo II engine, I tried several gas brands (premium grade) and Chevron Premium was the one fuel that didn't cause pinging, so I stuck with it. I would drive out of my way to fill the "Black Beauty" with Chevron Premium. I think you're on the right track, AA/PT.

Chevron or Texaco gas. Arco is cheaper, but their gas contains a higher percentage of alcohol (the maximum allowed) which ate up the rubber/neoprene parts in my other cars faster. My cars never ran good with Shell gas and Shell had a bad PR mess with their gas formulations a few months ago:

Shell has admitted an additive that was in its gas can damage fuel gauges or pumps in certain cars. The additive seems to affect DaimlerChrysler vehicles more than others.

Exxon/Mobil. I have a few mapped out along my popular routes. I have my credit card tied to www.upromise.com , so I get money towards future education expenses.

ESSO !!

I always go to Esso Stations. i've never had problems with their gasoline.

I met another Cruiser owner at the Wash it Yourself Car Wash earlier this summer and he said that his father works for a company that tests the different Gasolines and he told him that ESSO was one on the best ones out there with all the right additives.

Besides, you get Esso points every time you gas up and you can trade your points in for different things....
