I ride a motorcycle. There are kind of unwritten rules about waving to bikes going in the opposite direction. (1) I don't acknowledge Hells Angels and they don't acknowledge me -- much to my relief. (2) Sport bikes don't acknowledge Harleys, and vice versa. (3) When you do acknowledge another rider you hold your left hand out and down slightly, making a Vee with your first two fingers. Sort of "Stay cool..." (4) No headlight flashing, waving your arms in the air, standing on the saddle, etc. (unless you just won a road race, in which case you can also pull a wheelie). How about you young PTers out there suggesting a PT-to-PT signal? It would only be recognized by people in the know -- ie: people on this site -- and then nobody would get offended if the other PT driver didn't acknowledge. The occasional old fart businessman such as yrs trly would respond to your signal and you'd be able to say Hey, some of those old guys are OK!

I don't know what the deal is with some of us PT owners. When I bought my first Saab in the early eighties Saab owners were some of the friendliest poeple on the road and we would always flash the headlights when passing. So far I have only gotten about a 30% recognition factor from PT owners.

What's the deal out there?!?!?!?

Maybe PT's have been purchased by numerous introverts that didn't realize they would be the center of attention. :-D

I think I'll have to agree with the attention defecit thing. But, at the freeway speeds we idiots play with in CA, I don't take it personally.
It does bug me though, when it's 5 mph rush hour traffic, and the other driver is doing their best to look the other way.
BTW saw a black limited, with fuzzy dice and a "Dale Earnhardt" tribute sticker in the left rear quarter window today in a.m. traffic. Was it any of you?
(yes, I waved!)

Had fun yesterday driving behind a silver PT. I was in another vehicle, not my PT. Boy, was it great to watch it go down the road. Nice signal lights, third brake light. You get the picture. I never get to see what I look like from behind so it was kinda fun.
I know what you mean. I was ahead of my wife while she drove the PT. I spent so much time looking in the rearview mirrow I almost wrecked the car I was in.

About 20 years ago when I had my new Corvette I was really in to the comraderee thing. Waved at all of my fellow Vette owners, and as you are finding out about 1/4 waved back the other 3/4 look at you like you are nuts. When I get my PT I intend to still be a nut and I will acknowledge each and every PT I encounter with a wave, I promise! You have to remember that those of us that spend time on this forum a FANATICS. There are normal people out there like the bank teller I go to that has a PT that just think it's a neat car and why do people wave at me all the time?
Enough of my rambling!
Pat
