Question GT Designation

I have written to Chrysler asking for the specifications of the GT suspension. They wrote back saying only that it was a "sports package"

Does anyone know what is really included in the GT package.

Are all Turbo's GT'S ?

I just picked up a 2003 PT Cruiser brochure at the dealership. The Turbo is listed as a model, butT the term GT is not mentioned anywhere in the brochure.

Baffled as usual, Don

Don't feel bad....most of the Chrysler organization is more baffled than you are. At least you're here on the forums getting REAL info.

The GT is the turbo model. During the extended gestation period there was debate over what the turbo would be called. The magazines and early reports were all referring to the turbo as a GT Cruiser. Chrysler came back, no it wouldn't be a GT Cruiser, instead it would be a PT Cruiser Turbo. Lo and behold, the production model comes out and it is (drum roll please) called the GT Cruiser. The GT Cruiser includes the turbo, the 17" wheels, supposedly a reworked suspension and some of the performance options such as ABS/traction control. You have two trim levels, the base GT would probably be the equivalent of a TE with the performance options, the upholstery is different. The uplevel GT would be the equivalent of an LE model. I'm not aware of any external sign that you have the more expensive GT.
