What always annoys me about the clocks moving back, is that it's always a few days before Halloween. This almost GUARANTEES that kids will be trick-or-treating in the dark. If they wait until their parents get home, it will be dark by around 5pm..... they couldn't wait until the first Sunday in Nov?

Agree. I think the need for Daylight Savings Time is long past and it's not good to have the evening shade fall so soon (time-wise) in the fall and winter.

Heh, we're called "hicks" because we don't observe the 1940's era DST standard.

I call for Zulu time to be used everywhere!!!!!!
No time changes and when George in Kiwi land says he'll be in the office at 1200 then that's when he'll be in at your time.
Just imagine the possiblities...

Isn't that the point of Trick or Treating? To be at night? I would find it really strange to do that in daylight. Just hope you don't have snow for Halloween and have it be dark. (Although the snow would brighten it up.) Not too many people do the door-to-door thing here because it's too damn cold to go tromping through the snow in a costume.
