Default Price Gouging

I have just heard that gas in Kansas $5.00 a Gal. Oklahoma $4.00.
I started today with unbelievable sadness and disbelief then I became irate, that someone or some country could commit such and act. Now I am so mad and angry that at a time when our country should be pulling together there are people who would only think of filling their own pockets with gold when there are people who will never see their loved ones again. I know in my heart that retribution will come to you, and it will be swift and sure. Cruisers unite and let it be known that we will not stand for these acts of selfness let us rally around our fellow cruisers and AMERICANS everywhere. LET THE WORLD KNOW WE WON'T PAY OUTRAGEOUS PRICES FOR FUEL to these unfeeling and selfserving a$$ holes. Thank you for letting an old man vent his anger. and GOD BLESS AMERICA

Can anyone confirm these reports? Here is a site where you can check gas prices by zip code.
Check Gas Prices
It appears that gas prices are staying at the usual levels in my area.

This is true REO, gas in my hometown at some stations were $5.10 per gallon, some were $3.65 per gallon... and some were $1.54 when people started lining up for blocks and then changed the prices while people were in line to $1.70...but, there were some gas stations that have remained at $1.54 all day. In T-town today gasoline at some stations were upwards of $4.00 per gallon and fights did ensue while people were in line and policemen had to be called. Everyone should rally and REMEMBER when this is over which stations did not gouge! I know I will not purchase another gallon from these stations...even if it means driving out of my way to get gas.

UT_CRUZZZ - I saw this madness with my own eyes and when I noticed the difference between the stations, I drove around town to check which ones were NOT doing this horrible thing. It has been years since I have seen the lines at the pumps like today.

I filled up my cruiser for 1.99 and while I was hanging up the handle a woman came running out and said that all pumps were shut off effective NOW. They then raised the price to 4.25

I just came back from checking the prices at local gas stations. And the station had gone back down to 1.99. Most others are running the same, but tomorrow ?

Prices were up to $5 in St. Louis today and the lines were wrapped around the block, tempers flaring (according to the radio), police directing traffic. I passed 3 gas stations on the way home and they were all the same.

Going back home later this evening, things had calmed down. The 3 stations were very busy, but all the traffic was on their lots and not spilled out into the streets.

I went to my regular station today for my regular fill-up and paid the regular price. I am glad that here in Denver they aren't taking advantage of the situation.

$1.77 here but my parents are reporting over $4 a gallon in the St.Paul area. Disgusting.

well, I paid 1.60 for gas in St Louis. Very long lines...I had heard of some jumps in prices. I believe the stations were told they would then be investigated, prices normalized.
I was very frustrated..I was almost on empty. I am sure most folks were panic buying.

I think it's absolutely disgusting that gas station owners would take such advantage of the worries and panic of people. I'm glad I didn't see any stations around here doing that or I would have felt the need to stop there and beat the crap out of the owner.....then I'd be in jail now. I don't want to go to jail.
