The Xenon kits change the look of the car from Mild To Wild depending on which components you use.
Don't forget BEFORE and AFTER pictures...

What was your criteria in deciding to go WILD? I am on the fence whether to go WILD or not. The PT for me, is the weekend/cruising vehicle, not the everyday car (have a van and other car for that) but I am stull undecided. I want to lower (1.5" front, 2" rear, 17-18" rims, ...) but again, its not like I will go back to stock after doing said mods. Just can't decide....
I decided to go with the Bruiser Type Kit rather then one of the more subtle kits. I guess the reason is that I figured if I was going to do this -- I wanted to go all the way. I plan to show my car and I have an Idea of what I want the final product to look like. The Bruiser kit lends itself to a Fat Hot Roddy Look which I like. I am considering the lowering kit as well - but the Xenon Front will give me only 4 1/2 inches of ground clearance -- if i lower it more -- I will really be flirting with the traditional New Hampshire frost heave bumpy roads !!

I know two other guys who painted their bumpers and have already painter them twice already. Here's why; the textured bumber requires a flex type paint most body shops don't what to mess with them. I asked my dealer to do it when I had the front end on mine painter for repairs being done. They told me "No Way". However I did find a guy locally (Atlanta) they does paint them. This is what he told me. The bumpers have to be sanded down. even though they are plastic they can be sanded smooth. It takes longer to do but the paint stays on. I've see thee other PTs this guy did and they do look good. Actually I'm having my side mirrors done to match the car. $75.00 ea takes one day but man they look so good. Here's one he did his name is Jeff Collins.

We were going to get the bumpers painted at a shop that has done this before. I've seen the work and it's really good. It was going to be $900.00 for both bumpers and the mirrors. then we took the car to get it lowered and saw a car with the Xenon covers. The rear cover even has the cutouts for the dual exhaust. The price for the covers alone was $400.00 but we didn't want to buy them until we got a price to paint and install from an "experenced" shop. I have a line on one now and will try to get a price today.

Eddie, what an awesome picture. The cruiser looks identical to mine with the painted bumpers and I like the look of the painted mirrors. Mine are still black, but you may have convinced me to do more customizing. Although my dealer did my bumpers for free since they smashed up my bumper and quarter panel, I spoke to the body shop and they tell me that they will charge around $900 to do another job like mine since it is labor intensive to do the sanding and priming then painting and baking. My bumpers look great as in your picture and join the chorus of posters which urge to have it done right even though it may cost more. Thanks for making my day with your picture. :-D
