Default Painted B & C post done under warrenty

This car was done under warrenty, due to the B & C post discoloring real bad. The dealership talked to DC and they agreed to paint the post under warrenty ! If you are having this problem, check and see if they might be willing to do it for your cruiser..

( Hey Lisa yours needs this! )

These posts are simply strange. Since I've never had the problem myself, I never knew what the posts on the discoloration problem really meant. At that cruise-in, there were a few PTs that had the discoloration. It is quite distracting and adds a bit of ugly on a nice vehicle.
Mine are a deep glossy black that show fingerprints easily. Perhaps the Zaino I applied right after I took delivery has made the difference. The painted posts looked really nice. Anything would be better than that multi-hue effect like oil on water over the dull black.
How common is this problem?

I have seen 3 in town with the post discoloration. It really does ruin the look of the vehicle. Mine are a glossy black that show fingerprints also. My passengers have learned to shut the doors upon exiting the vehicle BELOW the black posts.

The ones I have seen that are "imperfect" look as if they have oily fingerprints ALL over them and layered on top of each other. They do not polish or wash off. I saw a new one (2001) straight off the lot yesterday, still with the dealer "30 day tag" in the window that was like this. I wanted to leave the poor soul a note about some Chrysler dealers are taking care of this problem - because I knew "his" dealer wouldn't consider it. If I see one again, I'll snap a pic.

I took mine in within two weeks of delivery when they got that oily look. The dealer kept it all morning, and said they "repainted" them, but it came right back. The local car wash told me to just wax it everytime you clean it. Which works fine, but . . Who did you talk to at D.C. to get the matching body paint as a warranty job? THAT I would like to do!
