Default Paint Me!

Okay, don't get the wrong idea!
An associate at work, heard this little rumor, and I wanted to see if she was the only one.
It is said, some of the local SoCal dealerships have been offering to PT buyers the opportunity to save some of their manthly payment, and still enjoy their car.
The deal is if you get your car painted with advertising (logos for softdrinks etc...) the company you are advertising for will pay you approx $300.00 per month for doing so.
Have any of you heard this one? The dealerships (as far as the sales floor) have not been able to confirm this for me, but it may only be offered by finance departments at time of sale.
Remember these are the same people who told me they would never build the PT!

There are a lot of deals like that out there. I have never seen it happen through a dealership. Actually the car is covered in some kind of vinyl cling that will not hurt your paint. The ones I have seen are paid $ 400.00 per month. Maybe the dealer is skimming off the top !!!!
I can't remember the name of the company to contact if you want to do this - but i'm sure someone here knows their web - address and name. I'm sure it will all come back to me as soon as I close this post !!!!!!! :/

The first vision that came to me was Kevin Arnold's car in "The Wonder Years", that had the giant dragon on it from the Chinese Restaurant.

I'm not sure I could do anything like that to MY Cruiser. With my luck, I'd get something like Pfizer's Viagra or any number of Playtex products. Think I'll just suck-up the payments!!!

See www.freecar.com for more info on this exciting, yet so unpersonal, approach to advertising...

One such company is:

There are others, but I can't think of them right now.

Someone sent me an article about this deal. They pay you for putting their ads on your car as noted above. However, there are some pretty stiff conditions, including NOT garaging the car! They want the ads seen, and you have to meet qualifications for miles travelled, where you go, etc. Don't think I'd want to trash my cruiser like that.

Actually, if they look as good as the Toronto Star Cruiser at Niagara Falls, I'd do it! Again, I'd have to draw the line somewhere (wonderbras?) but check out some of the posts on the meet and judge for yourself. Think the hard part for qualifing is the mileage driven daily...Take a number.

I think that's my biggest point! 145 mi. a day including my commute is what I do with mine. I've seen some of the marketing graphics also.
But, I think you're right, I would have to qualify the product...........
I saw a black PT with the "Energy" drink graphics and logo on it and it looked cool. I saw another one for a local security company (fake light rack and all) and it looked really stupid.

This would be a fairly easy one to fight. If you look at the FAQ under the freecar website, you will see that they state "No Catches". If they did make a qualification on how many miles you drive then that could be a lawsuit waiting to happen. The only thing they said is that it has to be your car that you drive every day. I don't drive my PTC everyday and my other vehicle is for my Sound Business so I am out... But I wouldn't want to put ads on my beautiful PT, at least not yet... let the paint go bad before I do that....

I did it......I signed up for the program. The waiting begins now, to see if anyone is interested in my driving route, and the demographics of the
areas around my office.
They also state on the info page, that your car's paint does not get effected by the procedure. What the heck, I have an order in for
PT #2 (for my wife), so one of them will stay stock.
