Seaner:

Sorry to disappoint you....but I like the OLD one better. It is much "warmer" than the new one and is a better reflection of my perception of YOUR personality.

Newer is not always Better.

Regards.....PT-MD

The registration page is still THE registration page...

Perhaps just change the MAIN reference to the new site.

Mike (OZ) and his "boys" have been working on this one- sniff sniff, I don't want my old frind to go either, its just too much for me to keep clean and organized.... sniff sniff

I like the original one better. The new one looks too slick. I'm old school!

Inferno Red, Co-Pilot, and Crumb Snatchers, counting down.

Well from the point of view of Marketing, a slicker site will go a great deal further with the media then the old one. Simple can be better from a usability stand point, but trying to attract the media and large sponsors (like DC), a slicker site will go much further in aiding Sean with his battle.

You have to remember, that people have high standards to what web sites look like. If we are going to attract attention (which we will), a professional looking site will go a lot further then a functional informational site.

For this reason, I pulled in a lot of favours, and spent a lot of time with Sean and the volunteer development team to create it. It makes the cruise look more then just a cruise. It creates a visual feeling that the organizer and his helpers are organized! Think from marketing prospective!! If DC sees this, they will be more impressed then the old site. People will be more impressed in general! Don’t get me wrong the old site is great! It got us all the information that we needed. We just took it up a notch!

We just gave Sean more ammo to fight DC and others that think other wise of our wonderful cruise!

I do this stuff for a living. I’ve worked with large companies and their marketing teams, and I understand how this stuff works! I understand your concerns and comments, but you also have to think of the flip side and the positive aspects of this change.

I’m open to your comments!

*********************************

There are 2 sides to every coin. Your new site is nice. And you have rationalized it well and made some good arguments. But you have lost sight of the ORIGINAL goal of the Niagra Falls Cruise.

Instead of a COMMERCIAL event (which it is now tending to become) it was originally intended to be a small gathering ("gosh wouldn't it be nice if we could get 25-50 cars) of Forum members who wanted to eyeball each others cars, get to know each other up close and personal, and view the FALLS.

WHO NEEDS DC ANYWAY ?

The Cruise is set.....the reservations are made, and it can't get much LARGER or it will become unmanageable. You have done a wonderful job on the new website.....BUT I STILL LIKE THE OLE ONE BETTER.....sorry !!!

You did ask for opinions, did you not?
