Default More info on PT. FIRES!!!

Well , since my last posting about the fire , I gathered some eye opening information . I got in touch with a couple of guys in my town who are expert auto mechanics and builder of high performance cars and custom fabricators of Hot Rods.Needless to say these guys know their stuff!!! The main reason why I had gone here was that the the owners had a PT.Cruiser there which they were going to customize . Unfortunately his Cruiser "mysteriously " burned overnight . The experts began investigating the poor Cruiser to see where the fire originated from. after thoroughly going over the vehicle they finally found what might have caused the blaze. the fire had started in the ignition area , the wire must have been faulty and heated up even after the car was shut off and the key was taken out. according to the owner the car burned slowly throughout the night . The wire was hot and slowly smoldered throughout the night causing the car to burn quietly from the inside out over night. But not to worry , so far this is an isolated incident and plus Chrysler was cool enough to provide a new Cruiser. Thanks to the guys at "Out Law motorsports in Long Island NY." P.S. : These guys do some of the best work i have ever seen! plus my Cruiser will be going here for Mod's and performance work. And maybe one day i'll order one f their Factory Five Racing Cobras"!!!

Interesting...I sure hope it was isolated. I park my PT in my garage every night...right below my bedroom (..since my wife says I can't bring it in the house).
Thanks for sharing!

We had a car fire once which was very scary. The car was in the garage and for some reason decided to burn during the night. The fire did not spread because the car and garage windows where up causing the fire to kill itself. If you are concerned I would suggest keeping the doors and windows shut at all times while in the garage just in case.

Oh my God! I hope it was an isolated incident, also. I am glad no one was hurt!
