To answer some of Sean's questions:

The factory horn relay switches the positive, same as a typical ahooga horn set-up.

The fuse for the horn appears to be for the horn only. I must remark that I like the way they have fused things in general. There appear to be many fuses, so there are not too many instances of multiple things on one circuit.

I measured the current draw of my ahooga horn (a Wolo Fun Horn). With the engine running the circuit voltage was 13.5 VDC and the current draw of the ahooga horn was 5 Amps.

Even though the standard horn circuit should be able to drive the ahooga horn, I would still be cautious about extended use (such as in a parade). 5 Amps is a lot for a 20 gauge wire to carry, there's not much safety factor there.

It would be interesting to see what current the factory horns draw...

All the ones that I have been involved with switch the pos., BUT via a relay that uses a negative (remote) switch!! }

Sounds like DIRECT wiring (DPST switch) is the way to go....

I wanted to take a moment to thank all of you for your input and feedback regarding my horn dilemma. I completed the project today.
I mounted the ahooga horn in the right fender forward next to the headlight. This is also where the stock horns are located. This made the wiring more easy. I installed a SPDT rocker switch in the blank space under the radio and completed the wiring. I have the export OEM PT power antenna so while I had everything apart I installed an identical rocker next to the horn rocker. This additional switch allows me to manually lower the antenna while listening to the CD deck. It all looks factory installed. Now with the flip of a switch I can choose stock or ahooga horn and best of all the both horns operate from the original steering wheel horn button. I'm jazzed! Thanks again

Tony,

Glad it all worked out as planned. Where is the pictures and the DIY article?

Which antenna do you have and where did you buy it? How do you like it?

PTBrewzer
The antenna is Chrysler OEM for export. I import them. I have 200 more on the way. The antenna is made specifically for the PT and I love it. I'll e-mail you photos.
