I wish I could find another explanation for these scratches that I found a few days ago, but nothing seems to fit. I hate to even think it, but all I can figure is someone keyed my Inferno.
I didn't notice it until I was cleaning the car the other day. Three bad scratches on the front fender area, the worst is all the way to the metal! They are horizontal and about two inches apart and around four inches long. I've gone over it again and again, but I just can't see how they could have happened. I know I haven't hit anything, I even go around bits of paper blowing down the street! There is no dent or scraping like a shopping cart encounter or something. I remembered seeing photos that someone posted of their keyed car and realized that my damage looked just like that! Should I check with my insurance company about it? I've never had anything like this happen, so I don't really know what I should do. How do most insurance companies handle something like this? I'm really sickened at very thought that someone could have done this on purpose. Thanks for any words of wisdom, I could use some right now. Cynthia |

Cynthia, I feel your pain!!! I also do not understand such senseless vandalism. A friend of mine in Texas has an IR and a large dog that accidently scratched the hood while playing, and he used the touch up paint to cover the damage - I'm wondering if that's an option??? I have numerous rock chips that I'm trying to find the courage to repair with the touch up paint and Langka; it might be worth the effort. I was rear ended by a semi and had to have the entire rear bumper and fenders replaced, and the body shop had a hard time matching the IR. It took a number of attempts to get it right.
No words of wisdom here, just alot of sympathy!!!! |

I too feel sorry for your misfortune. A lot of messed up people out there with no respect for others property. I would have a reputable body shop look this over and give you a professional opinion. Check with family and friends for someone who excels in this area. Word of mouth is the best advertising, too many half assed body shops out there.
