Default How many have gone 2 or more rounds?

I was wondering, how many people have had a PT deal go sour
and placed another order. Maybe again and again.
Allocation gave out, they sold it out from under you, changed
the deal at the last minute.......
I'll bet it is a disturbingly high percentage.

Woog count me on this. My original dealer, Maryland Motors in Rockville Md. oversold their allocation (ord 10/18/2000. I have placed another order with Fairfax Chrysler Plymouth
(12/18). They say they can fill it in about 3 -1/2 to 4 months. Still in bx status, dont expect to go D until mid March. Hope this works as I'd like my car by summer, I'm tired of walking!

We're on round 2 - although (as of now_ we're planning on keeping both. Our original order got bumped to 2002, so we hunted down a 2001 at Carmax Norcross - in just over a month, we went from #22 to #1 in BX. Others who've placed their orders with Carmax around the same time we did at are already D1!! We've been holding at #1 for almost 2 weeks now - hopefully that will change shortly, and we'll be cruising by early spring!

As for our original order - I'll consider us lucky if we see it by December (15 months after placing the order!), but for us that's OK - we need a little recovery time from buying the first one!

The Cruiser I now own is the second I ordered. First order was placed 7/1, and on 11/17 I spoke with my salesman about the impending DC memo regarding future allocation of the 2001 model year. He didn't know if I'd get one there, so I told him I'll check out my options. I found another dealer who could get me one in 8-10 weeks. 8 weeks later (to the day) my Cruiser came in. A week later, I got a form letter from my original dealer saying that they can't get my order, and I can either wait for a 2002 model, or get my deposit back. Guess which I chose. :-)

Wow!! Count me on this also. Originally ordered from Ourisman Chrysler Plymouth in Clarksville, MD on September 16 and was told on January 2 that I would not be getting my car. Reordered (from help from "Patpur") from Fairfax Chrysler Plymouth on January 13. BX status at the moment but promised delivery in April - I'll take it.

original order 4-28 from small town 5 star dealer. After waiting for almost nine3 months I discovered that I probably won't be getting a 2001 model nor was the price protection worth the paper it was written on.I probably could have expected a car from this dealer sometime this summer but was a little to impatient to wait that long so I made other arrangements and now am driving a beautiful taupe frost exactly like the one I ordered. They are out there if you don't want to wait. The people on this site have been just great. Not just because they found a cruiser for me but just for being there for the horrendous waiting period. DC must have their heads where the sun doesn't shine. Thanks to all on this site who made the time so much more enjoyable.

I'm on my second, and last, dealer. All the cars on lots in the 3 state
area were 3 to 7 thousand over. There's a shale green with an asking
price of $29,000 than has been sitting on an elevated stand for
four months. I hope it sits there a lot longer.

Cheesy bastages

I really dig the PT though

Ordered one in August 00, from local 5 star dealer with an 8 to 10 month wait expected. Got tired of waiting, found dealer with large allocation, ordered 2nd car 10/18/00, delivered to me 12/20/00. In early January found out I didn't make the 01 cut from the 1st dealer, canceled order deposit returned.

I'm on my second round. First Dealer ( in MASS.) couldn't get allocation. Was told in Dec. not going to get 2001. Panic, swore, kicked the wall then cried and complained to the good people on this board. Finally got over it and reorder a PT from Reedman's in PA. Things look good so far. My guess is at the rate there backlog is being used up I will go to D this month. One thing I have noticed is the number of orders after my order is not growing as fast as the number of BX to D status conversions. It would appear that Reedmans my not sell there entire allocation for 2001 if the number of allocations they told me they had left is true. At least if the present order rate continues.
