I think it may have cooled down a bit. I come across several PT Cruisers on my commute every day. There is certain more of them around. Yeah, it getting scary with the price of gas...

yawn. Oh wait is that a convertible PT ! I will never get tired og the PT and people still come up to me to check out the car. It's weird. I still look at it in disbelief that I could own something like this.

$1.70 a gallon, gee doesn't any Californians remember when Gas was $1.70 a gallon?

I think in general the attention it gets is something less then it was a year ago. However !!!
With more and more Cruisers being modified - and with the endless stream of aftermarket parts and accessories -- there is plenty of oppertunity to individualize your PT !
I think this will be the trend !!
I have spent $ 3,500 in mods so far and figure i'm about 1/3 of the way to where I want the car to be.
That is if wifey dosn't kill me first !!

I think it has slowed down somewhat too. People don't come up to the car as much as they did last fall. But the reply about the mods is right. They sure add a lot to the package.

Default It still happens, twice a day...

The best time is after a hard day's work. I drag myself to the parking garage desperately trying to remember what floor I parked on (and visualizing all sorts of door dings and worse). As I hobble out of the elevator and round the corner to 2A, I see it ahead of me, it's porpoise-colored hump peering over a squat, nondescript sedan. The warmth and comfort that floods over me when I see my AquaGuppy each night can't be described. And no, I had already been to the men's room, thank you. Easing the little guy through the gears and sailing down the boulevard...aarrrghh! What more could you want? Morning is similar. Actually the only reason I feel like getting up and going to work is so I can drive the PT. I'm pretty broke by now and there are still more presents to be bought for my friskie little Cruiser. But, every day I enjoy my car for exactly the reasons I bought it -- great looks and utility. Pretty good price. Lots of nice little buttons and lights.

Not NEARLY as many glances as before here in Southern California (lots of Cruisers). Oh well...

After three months of ownership I still get a lot of people flagging me down in parking lots to ask about the car. Here in the SF bay area they are still selling at a premium (and then some), I see more and more on the road nowadays, but people still like the car. I had a guy waiting in the parking lot of a local pet store for me to come out so he could ask some questions, and had another guy take a picture of it in a Taco Bell parking lot while I was inside eating! People are great, aren't they? |-)

I'm in Dayton, Ohio and I think the craze has cooled down some. Some PT owners will not wave, but they get one from me. One dealer has 4 used ones on his lot at inflated prices and they are not selling which I am glad. Have not seen any new ones on the lots lately. People still ask about the PT but not as much. BUT I'm still crazy
