Default Ford to unveial new rave car that will take the heat off of the PT

Any day now Fords will announce a new car like the PT, the will be the next craze and rave. It is suppose to compete with the PT 100%. They have keep this under wraps for a while now I understand.

Someone posted something that looked like a focus ZX3, just with larger fenders! It did look lame, and nothing like the PT.

Don't forget about the Toyota Matrix It's ugly too! >)

The Matrix resembles that Hocus Pocus Focus thing you refer to and I agree with you, butt ugly. I don't know what has happened at Toyota design the last few years, they are really putting out some strange looking cars. With the exception of the Mustang and the Taurus (for some strange reason I like the SE's) Ford isn't much better.

I agree. They are looking to the new ZX5 to compete with the PT. Sorry .... missed again Ford and it is still a ford after all.

Picture the front grill & fenders of the PT on a body that looked like the TT. Anyone got a pic? I lost that magazine!!!

If the Focus/Matrix is all they got, I would hate to be Ford right now!

In Canada, at least, Mazda is rolling out a 4-door hatchback called the Protege5, as a 2002 model. Saw a picture and review in to-day's National Post. Looks pretty sharp, has an impressive list of standard equipment, and tops out at $22.5k Canadian.

Cheers

P.S. I think Ford owns a chunk of Mazda
;-) ;-)

Ford can do all they want to compete with the PT. The only problem is... it will STILL be a Ford car. There's still only one '69 Corvette and '57 T-Bird. There will only be one '01 PT.

Zed, go to the news forum and check out the story on the PT Cruiser convertible that was shown at the New York auto show. I believe that's the vehicle you're referring to.
