Engine Wheezing sound

Does anyone here a wheezing sound on the engine? It doesnt go away after it warms up, I consider it kinda loud since I can hear it over the exhaust noise, but I dont know if anyone else can hear it (owners usually hear weird things inside their cars). I can hear it in 1st and 2nd by the time I get to the other gears, the mufflers pretty much drown out any sounds

Cut back on the cigarettes... Just kidding, I don't notice it on mine, the only "weird" noise I hear is some kind of "jet-like wind-down" right after turning off the car... don't know what it is... sounds pretty cool though!

I have the exact same sounds. I expected it to be alot quieter actually. Do you also have a slight vibration when the car is in gear, that goes away when put in N or P or when you take your foot of the brake and start to move? It feels like a resistance vibration. When I start to move and take my foot of the brake the vibration goes away, but soon returns when I come to a stop.

We had the 'sound' when car was new. It was more of a whinning sound in 1st and 2nd gears.Later, about 2,000 miles, I detected a power steering noise. The p/s pump and hoses were replaced. We no longer have the whinning sound. It was embarassing in a new car. All is fine now: 5,300 miles, purchased 7/19/00.

try winding the rubber band a little tighter. Either that, or don't drive uphill

It appears we have two topics - wheezing in 1 and 2 (manual trans) and vibrations in "D" on the autmatic. Does anyone hear the wheezing in their auto trans PT?

I have had this sound before when I was stopping then it suddenly vibrates some.. but not anymore because Ive had it checked on...
