I may be new to the PT Cruiser and this type of forum, but am not new to computers (Built my first one in 1972). The most fun I ever had was running a BBS (Bulletin Board System). Back then the person that ran the system was known as a SYSOP. (Any of you remember those good old days). He ran it on his own computer with then dial in modems. HE set aside his computer for something he enjoyed doing, and letting other folks enjoy what he had to offer. But the whole key was the SYSOP=GOD. It was his to control. Now days it is so much harder for a person to control things. You start a site that you think folks will enjoy, and it usually starts out good. But sooner or later the bad seeds pop up, and the SYSOP has to control it the best way he can.

Good luck, you have my support.

Bill

I think if you put it to a vote the folks who want things banned would lose by a landslide

In my humble opinion if things were more like the fifties this country would be a lot better off. the c--p you see on tv and movies is pure trash.

I have tried to put more open-ended guidelines in place in the past, but they have failed to work. I apologize to all of you who met the spirit of the previous guidelines. Continued complaints as well as abuse by those who insisted on pushing the limits of existing guidelines have forced this change in the rules.

I understand that some of you will interpret this to be a limitation on your God-given right to say and post anything you want anywhere on the Internet. To that I respond:

"This is not another sign of the downfall of society, of PC run-amok, or of people who need to get a grip. It is a response to you thinking that PTE is your own personal playground to post anything you would like. Some people don't appreciate the adult content and since PT Cruisers are not exactly an adult topic, I feel no guilt tightening the focus of allowed content to be a bit more PT-centric."

Note: There are several other forums and sites on the Internet where you can post and/or view this type of content. PTE is no longer one of them.

Thank you for respecting these changes and following them as best you can. When in doubt, please don't hesitate to ask before posting.
Scott i dont know what i did, but i am sorry if i offended anyone, i will watch what i say.

Whoa!

As a new PTe, I didn't jump in on the "PC/hogwash" discussion for fear of getting O'Reilly's Book for Kids thrown at my head. Now I've gone back and looked over the political discussions of the past. It gets hotter in here than on Ed Schultz's blog (wegoted.com). Anyway, I've enjoyed the helpful info on my "new" red '01 Ltd and I think the mild restrictions on content are reasonable, considering the mission of this site. I could make a number of comments/observations, but I get enough mental stress watching the cableheads in the evening. I think I'll stick to the PT related issues. Thanks.
