Probably because its Christmastime, nerves tend to get on edge and tempers short this time of year. Plus there are a lot of mis-speaks that are taken the wrong way or seem pointed and there doesn't seem to be an easy way to resolve it. God knows I've been guilty of that over the years. But I think PTE members are strong enough to overcome and forgive and go on without skipping a beat. Look at all the apologies you see in the posts, I don't see any of this in the other forums. Once a flame has been lit over there, it's like the eternal flame. Only difference is that the originator of the post can delete the subject (and all the subsequent responses) unlike at PTE where the subject and responses can be viewed at any time. }

Yes, I noticed it... and have stayed away for a while until the holiday "ragging" disappears. Maybe it's the fact that it's an entire half year until "Cruise the Falls". Maybe it's that it's getting more difficult to enjoy the Cruisers in the cold. Maybe Fruit of the Loom sent out a batch of underwear laced with anthrax. I don't know... but I'm sure it'll end.

I know. I read some of these posts and I think, WTF?!?!? Some people get so offended and/or bent out of shape about the stupidest things lately.

Along the same subject......does anyone notice that people on the roads, in the malls, etc. get a lot more rude than usual around Christmas. I don't why I'm surprized every year. I guess it's because I'm just hoping that everyone will remember the true meaning of Christmas. Yeah, like that'll ever happen.

Do what I do. Since you have to read the post you have two options either

A. Read the post the way the writer intended
Or
B. Read the post and then change that voice in your head to a happy voice with a humorous twist.

Option B will always make the post fun no matter how snide they are. But yes I have not been here long and there have been some touchy feelings. I combat all harshness with humor. There is no need to get upset over anything. Adults who are mature can resolve any issues without slander and back biting. How ever when you are typing you need to be real careful how you word stuff. People can read a post several different ways. Hey if nothing else use some smileys people. It helps convey emotional context.

Sometimes when I read a post, I add the word "sex" into every 10th word, just to see what the post would look like and perhaps reveal the hidden text- 1% of the time it works (something like real life!)

I'm glad someone else mentioned this; many posts this past week have bothered me. Although relatively new to PTE, I come here to escape the attitudes for a while, ask questions, and talk about my favorite little car. My free time is limited, I don't want to spend it weeding through a bunch of negative posts.

I hope whatever is going on passes quickly...
