We had to build our own guns from wood lath, heavy duty cloths pin trigger and cut up inner tubes for ammo. Hard to poke an eye out but could leave a nasty welt. Also had lots of crabapple fights. Awww, the good old days.

Guess what it boils down to is, kids need some physical way to work off natural aggressiveness. If they can--for example--get cool play guns and accessories and go out in the woods (outdoors, anyway) and work out those aggressions, they more or less clean their systems--and get some exercise, good fellowship, and maybe even learn a thing or two about using their wits and working as a team.
Plunk them in front of a video game and they really just passively "play"--what's missing is the actual movement, the physical action of "playing army," or whatever. That's why kids can "kill" 1,000 aliens on an electronic screen and still not work off that physical aggression. My theory, anyway. Physical sports serves the same function. Get those kids outdoors or at least out of the house! ![]()
