It has shown them up for the irrelevant, inept and corrupt organization they have become. Anytime a country like france with their special interest in keeping Saddam in power can veto what is the right thing to do, something needs to change. The corruption in the U.N. is why we are at war now. Saddam thought he had an ace in the hole with the veto power he knew his friends like france could exercise over anything the United States came up with. I haven't kept up with it, but I've heard recently there is going to be an INDEPENDENT investigation into the U.N.'s food for oil program. Maybe the truth will come out and shock alot of people who support the U.N. and whatcha want to bet the world is going to find out the REAL reason france, Germany and maybe Russia were against any effective action against Saddam. |

Also-looks like what bush jr has done this time has ostrasized us-I swear there are countries in the world that are upset with the US (for being bullies) and have said so about the whole Iraq thing. Just because you served it doesn't make you any better of an american than anyone else that lives here. I swear, it's like some people think they are BETTER than everyone else because they were in the military. People that never served (for whatever reason) need to be grateful to those who served, but we don't have to believe they are better than everyone else.

And envy doesn't exclude the fact that they think we are bullies-which was what I was responding to.

Those same foreign countries have long accused us of being "bullies" and cowboys. That is envy and sour grapes. Nothing new there.
