Default Hee Hee-got a salesman on a string!!

My salesman (that sold me the dreamer and the two other 01 cranberries) works at a different dealership now and I called and he wants me to come in and test drive their RED (nice color!) crossfire tonight. He said he will make me a good deal (he tried to get me to say I would trade in the dreamer-yeah, right!). Told me he had a great lease deal on it-I said I do not lease cause I drive too many miles for that. He said he didn't know how much he would be able to discount this "$30,000 car". Wow-have they dropped the price to 30K PLUS I can deal? I might have to look into it. They will not get the dreamer, though!!!

Make sure you have the hook in his mouth and then set it, Lisa. 30K for a Crossfire sounds like a hell of a deal to me.

$30k is a deal with a sticker of $35k, but I've seen a few ads with $28k or so. I'm sure there's a few rebates involved there but one of the dealers is fairly reputable so I don't think there's a lot of hook-n-crook going on.

They just want too much for the thing given the class it's in and the economy on top of that.

yep - I thought about it. probably won't ever happen.

Had a great ride!!! Cruised through the country and it didn't do too bad on the ole "farmer's blacktop". Fun to drive and has better pick-up than most give it credit for. Love the autostick. Not too bumpy for that size of a car and those wheels/tires, either. Salesman said-"well, I don't know, I will have to ask the owner-we are not allowed to make our own deals here. You know this is the new hot car-they don't even have any cash back with them, either". I said, "yep, but you have three here and they are not selling." I said maybe I would have to come back when they had the crossfire roadster. He is going to call me today and see what kind of deal the "owner" will agree to. Too funny!!

Looks like that salesman is kind of caught up in a "Crossfire."

Good Job Lisa! Don't let em BS you. Since when did any salesman have the ability to cut the deal. Is always "I,ll be right back". As for the 'hot new car" its not just this dealer, they are sitting most everywhere I've seen. It's a shame because its a nice car but a little too pricey. I honestly wish they would have continued production of the Prowler instead of putting out the Crossfire. I had made up my mind that would be my next car after the GT gets old.

This dealership not only has a NEW prowler on their floor, but it is an "old" new prowler-a plymouth-done in prowler red!!! I am not sure if the dealership would even sell it-I don't know why they even have it on the floor!!
