Default Another Perspective - ll

This letter to the editor appeared in a newspaper in south- eastern Pennsylvania on 03/01/04. I added the picture.
King George’s reign must come to an end

Where is the outrage? The emperor has no clothes!

George Bush‚ his administration and the policies of the GOP are disgraceful. The lies‚ the “spin” and the secrecy that have dominated this group since their appointment to power is a travesty.

No‚ I’m not a disgruntled Democrat‚ but a registered Republican who is absolutely disgusted with the direction the party has taken in the last 10 years.

Their pandering to special interests‚ the horrible shape of the economy under their tenure‚ their relentless attacks on the environment with their disguised titles and fabricated positive ecological spin are an insult to the intelligence of any thinking person.

In the three years since this group has stolen the helm‚ the country has lost more than 2‚000‚000 jobs and nearly 9‚000‚000 Americans are officially unemployed.

What is King George’s answer? He gave massive tax cuts for the rich‚ refused to raise the minimum wage above its pathetic $5.15 an hour‚ and denied an extension of the unemployment benefits to those unfortunates who have lost their jobs during his reign.

He suggested giving legal status to illegal aliens‚ and members of his administration supported the benefits of out-sourcing American jobs to foreign countries.

What of the war with Iraq? Where are the WMDs that King George and his Mensa insisted existed? What of the nonexistent ties to al-Qaida? What of the valiant 500-plus American men and women who have died in this unnecessary quagmire?

I would ask King George‚ where’s Osama? Have we stopped looking for him? Oh‚ that’s right‚ we’re going to Mars.

The attacks on the working class are disturbing. King George has launched assaults on overtime‚ spinning to imply he’s doing working people a service‚ but really pandering to big big business.

If he does away with the working middle class‚ and cuts taxes for his rich cronies‚ where is the money going to come to fund America?

My family and I are middle class Americans that cannot afford four more years of King George’s “compassionate conservatism‚” given the massive debt we’ve encumbered. His irresponsible actions are going to cost all of us for decades to come.

As always this time of the election cycle‚ I received a letter from the National Committee requesting financial support. Isn’t $170‚000‚000 enough?

Our reply was that we sent our usual check instead to John Kerry and wished him godspeed to the White House.

No dem is going to put more money in your pocket. Period!
As far as your being a registered pub that means nothing so is Bloomberg in NY and he is a RINO. Your post sounds like a DNC memo. No offense but that is my opinion.

Come November, there will likely be one more job lost; that of the Comander-in-Chief so don't spend too much time worrying about it. Government of the rich people, by the rich people and for the rich people is the state we find ourselves in. Communism is the other side of the coin so choose wisely.

I have only one more thing to say to everyone today. VOTE!!!

Yup, all sorts of "disgruntled Republicans" will no doubt be writing to all sorts of newpapers and magazines up until election day.
