Thumbs up Mel Gibson's "The Passion"

Has any PT'er here been to see the movie?

I went yesterday, and found the movie absolutely incredible and magnificent. Being Catholic, this was the best launch for Lent I've ever had in my life!

For my own personal thoughts to share with all of you - - with respect for everyone else's own opinions and thoughts - -

- - I did not find anything controversial with the movie.

- - Yes, there was violence....but completely "different" violence, and
unlike the "entertaining violence" of mainstram movies - - of which
no one makes any controversy.

- - Yes, there was blood....but I felt it is "Good Blood", being shed by
Jesus for ALL of mankind, not for just Catholics or a select few.

- - I became "numb" to the violence and blood, after the first ten
minutes of the film.

- - I did not possess any dislikes, nor hate, for ANYONE of the Jewish
faith - - nor any other religious group - - either before the movie
began nor after it ended.

- - The cinematography, filming location in Matera (Italy), and the
Dolby Digital Surround Sound have to be experienced to be
believed.

- - It is not "The Gospel According To Mel Gibson".

Thank you all, for allowing me to share my thoughts with all of you -
I am much appreciative!

Haven't seen it, but will probably wait for the DVD. All of the theaters around here are booked solid for the entire weekend and beyond with church groups. Glad to have heard from someone who was able to get in. I will look forward to it.

I'll wait for the DVD also but that is the way I am. Don't even know what the insides of a movie theater looks like. Like others I hear it is a fantasic movie. And also like others, the church groups around here are also booking the movie solid.

We plan to see it, but will wait 2-3 weeks for the crowds to thin out a little.

I worked with a customer today and his wife saw the movie last night.

I haven't seen it, but after talking with him, I would VERY STRONGLY suggest, before you take your kids to see the movie,
Please, go see it first yourself.

You know your kids and what they can handle.

We went and saw it today and I agree 100% with Johnny D's opinions.
I must say though, that this was the first movie I've ever seen that when it ended people got up and left the theater without speaking a single word. I think it makes you so numb that you don't know exactly what to say.

Now for the great part..... our local movie theater gives discounts for people in law enforcement so we were able to get all 4 of us in for only $4

It went straight to my "never will see" list. Just not my cuppa tea.
