Default Tax Questions - Any tax accountants out there??

Im in the midst of doing my taxes for last year and I came accross an interesting problem. You can only deduct medical expenses that are medically necessary. Would LASIK be considered medically necessary?

Thanks!!

Dan

Lasik is an elective procedure and isn't deductable.

Most use the rule that everything is deductable until the IRS tells you differently.

I claimed mine last year.

It's a medical expense to improve your vision. It's a corrective procedure.

ALL mileage to and from a doctor, is deductable, at (I think) .36 a mile.
