When I lived near Ft Worth Texas I saw a pretty neat thing.
When the Concordes started flying into DFW airport, they planned an event for the first flight into the airport. DFW airport has twin runways and the British and french Concords were going to approach and land side by side. There was a big open field at the north end of DFW airport, so my wife and I went out to see them land and were able to get almost right above the fight path near the end of the runway. That day it was crystal clear day and we looked to the north and saw these 2 tiny little smoke trails. We knew that was the Concordes. It seemed like 5 minutes went by before they finally arrived. That was the first time I had seen the Concorde and to see them approach and land side by side was awesome. What really impressed us, was the noise, the smoke and the unusual angle they took while landing. Lots of times after that we would go to the airport to watch them take off. Those planes are really loud and the ground shook when they took off. They are truly awesome. It's sad to see them go.

I had the pleasure of seeing the Concorde upclose a few years back when it arrived at Lambert International Airport in St. Louis...
Definately an awesome sight to see in flight and on the ground... Sad to see their flights end... ![]()
