I read today that British Air will keep ONE BIRD in flying condition for "Special Events".

I should have mentioned, that we brought the scanner to the arifiled and tuned into 127.000, the ground traffic freq at Pearson airport. We actully heard the pilot (British accent, duh!!) saying GOODBYE to Toronto. We also heard other planes wiating to taxi, that they wanted to witness "history" and stood-down on the skirts a couple minutes to it could take-off.

Truly an amazing piece of aviation, engineering, and history.

Not to rub it in, Dad, but I've both flown in the Concorde (your tax dollars at work) and flew in the back seat of an F-15 (ditto). Even got to "pilot" the F-15 and buzz some bikinis over the Keys.

Okay, okay, I'm rubbing it in a little.
