I'd have to go with the original version of The Haunting myself. It sure gave me goosebumps when I watched it as a youngster.

BTW, it didn't have Vincent Price in it...perhaps you're thinking of House on Haunted Hill, although I doubt that one would have scared you very much.

Has anyone seen Pi? Its a great mindf_ck of a movie. You'll be trying to figure it out for days. I'll add Jaws, Exorcist, and Night of the Living Dead to the list.

Psycho, The Birds, Night of the Living Dead, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Phantasm, The Exorcist, Jaws, Aliens, Terminator, Hellraiser:Hellbound.

"Creepshow" is also one of my favorites. I was watching it for the first time at 3 in the morning, and as the credits started to roll, I heard three sharp raps on the window behind me--I must've shot 6 feet into the air!! After a gibbering call to the police and hugging close to the floor, it was determined that a ladder outside the house had fallen and "bounced" against the window...SO THEY SAY...boy, did I feel like an ass!

If you haven't seen "In the Mouth of Madness", RENT IT --bIZaRre, baby, BiZaRrE(horror writer releases a book that drives people insane when they read it...AND THEN THE MOVIE COMES OUT...!! )

Check out Rob Zombie's "House of a Thousand Corpses", too--Wicked fun, that one.

Got to go with:

The scarier the movie, the BETTER it is

I have such a difficult time finding a movie that really scares me. If I HAD to pick one I guess it would be The Exorcist.... although that really didn't scare me either.

Now if you want GORE then you must see Dead Alive.
Dead Alive has been called "the goriest movie ever", and it earns this reputation beautifully. The most is not just gory; it's HYSTERICALLY gory. We're talking buckets of blood, zombies dispatched by a lawnmower, rampaging intestines, and also (for the ladies) some zombie sex thrown into the mix. I can't stress how gory this movie is; you must see it to believe it.

OK-How about "Carrie"? I also like "the Omen" and a really creepy movie was "Children of the Corn".

That is a really bad movie to think of if you happen to get lost at night on a lonely country road......
