Default Undertakers See Baby Boomers Boosting Market

SOFIA (Reuters) - European undertakers are bracing for aging post-war baby boomers and looking for eco-friendly ways to handle a sharp increase in business in the next 40 years.
"We don't want people to die, but if they are dead, we want to provide them with a good service," said Henry Keizer, secretary-general of the International Cremation Federation, at a weekend conference in Sofia.

Undertakers at the conference said they wanted environment- friendly methods to cut the waste resulting from traditional burials or air pollution from old-fashioned crematoriums.

"They were not much different from a very large pizza oven," Keizer said.

Among the possibilities participants suggested were high- tech plans such as freezing bodies and breaking them down with sound waves.
Making a living from death is kinda weird... but, unfortunately, very necessary... I think I'd like to be screamed at until I break down.... what a way to go...
