I had some stains on mine from something. Looks like whatever it was just ran down the wheels and left stains. I bought some Mothers mag polish and it got rid of the stains but they don't seem quite as shiny now. Wonder if the billet polish by Mothers which is more expensive will do better. I have the American Racing Aero polished wheels.

Unfortunately, some wheel cleaners are highly acidic or caustic. A bit late but read the label and buy the one's that say clearcoat safe. In general, using car wash shampoo, a brush, and a clay bar should keep your wheels clean.
As far as your wheels, it is unknown if they are/were clearcoated or not. You should check it out first to be sure and to ascertain how much damage was caused before proceeding with any of the following suggestions. If clearcoated, I would try a mild polish, like a swirl mark remover, Mother's Clear Coat Wheel Polish, etc. If not clearcoated, I would use a mag & aluminum polish, like Mother's, Simichrome, etc., either by hand (if it's not too bad) or with a buffer with felt buffing pads/wheels. Or take them into a shop and have them polished for about $40+ a wheel and pay a few dollars more if you want them clearcoated.
