The wagons are used for hauling grain, corn, etc. Do you see the spectator stands in the upper left? I think the action is out beyond the cars, in the upper rt.

Btw, I have one of those wagons in my yard as an ornament. still has original paint. Mine was converted from horse drawn as in the picture, to tractor drawn. The horses by the wagons look like draft animals to me, used to pull the wagons.
