Default Distributed Computing

I know A few people on here were at one time or maybe still are running the Seti@home project.

I think we should start our own distributed computing team with more of a medical/humanitarion theme.

Here are some of the available choices:
Stanfords Protein Folding
United Devices Cancer project
Distributed Folding

There are others but I have ran all the above at one time or another and had no problems with them.

Lets Pick a project and form a team and get started

How about Cruisin for a cure for a team name?

Lets pick a project and get busy

I'll give this one last try

This is An important project and can be very benificial to everyone.

Who Here hasn't had someone in there lives affected by Cancer or something else......

...... What happens if proteins don't fold correctly? Diseases such as Alzheimer's disease, cystic fibrosis, CJD (Mad Cow disease), an inherited form of emphysema, and even many cancers are believed to result from protein misfolding.

When proteins misfold, then can clump together ("aggregate"). These clumps can often gather in the brain, where it is believed to cause the symptoms of Mad Cow or Alzheimer's disease.

The Protein folding project is University ran NON- Profit and all data from it will be published and in the public domain.

Please check out this link Stanford Protien Folding

Or for mor Information go to http://forum.folding-community.org

I am running this currently for another team but think we should start a team for PTE and get some more people involved. It is easy to run basically download the program install it and forget it
there are 3 versions a screensaver only, graphical, and console.
I run the console version because it is the fastest.

It doesn't slow your computer down as it only uses Idle CPU cycles.

If there is no intererst in this I will stick with my current team [H]ardOCP. But if there Is any interest I will start a new or join a PTE team

Thanks Again
