Default Cookie Situation

Hope one of you guys/gals can help me on this one. I have my browser security set to "medium", which allows cookies. Yet I am unable to sign-in to either Webshots or my PTE web site. After transmitting my member name & password, the very same sign-in page appears again. I can't get past the sign-in page at either one! Yet, I have no problem signing in to pay my Visa or MasterCard online, and both require cookies. What the hell could be causing this problem?

Another strange thing, and this could be related, is that after logging in to PTE (again, accepting cookies) if I leave the site & then return, I have to log in again. It seems this started happening right around the time I had my DSL fiasco, although I can't imagine how installing & then deleting DSL would have any bearing on cookies. Prior to the DSL thing, if I logged in to PTE, then left & came back, I would STILL be logged in.

There must be a setting SOMEWHERE that got screwed up somehow.

Somebody please help me, it's driving me nuts!!!!! }

I have mine set at medium-high. But just to let the folks know, just add the url to the exception list and away you go.
