Cruisin' for Children's Charity - STL RT. 66
We have selected Shriners Hospital's for Children to donate all the proceeds from our Meet Me In St. Louis On Route 66 Cruise .
The Shrine of North America is known for its colorful parades, circuses and clowns. But there is also a serious side to this international fraternity of approximately 525,000 men belonging to 191 Shrine Temples, throughout United States, Canada , Mexico, and Panama. For 75 years, the Shrine has operated a network of specialized hospitals that treat children with orthopedic problems, burns, and spinal cord injuries and problems, up to their 18th birthday, free of charge. Shriners Hospital’s For Children is a network of 22 hospitals that provide expert, no-cost orthopedic, medical and burn care to children under 18. We plan to provide all our proceeds to the National Shriners Hospital’s for Children network to assure paid attendees that funds will be used for Shiners Hospitals everywhere. This is a cause that is VERY close to my own heart. My (now 16 and cancer free) year old son (Chris) had a VERY rare form of cancer when he was 3 (10% chance to live) & went through 9 months of chemotherapy (strong enough to kill him aside from the cancer). That was a very trying time for our family, I know first hand what it means to have that support net for the family & for the children.
