Default PT questions

A new blog entry has been added:

Not sure if this is the right place for PT questions/problems, but any advice is appreciated. My 2002 Touring Edition has the following issues: 1. After only two years, the keyless remote stopped working. Dealer said it would cost several hundred dollars to replace remote sgnal box. Is that right? 2. At six years old, fog lights go on whenever I use right turn signal, UNLESS the headlights are on. Is this a glitch in the universal light stick on the car? TIA.

RKE module should be able to find one in a junkyard pay the man for the rest. And yep it will cost a bit. And just to ask the stupid question are you sure its not a dead key fob battery? After 5 years you are on borrowed time with them.. Or does it work in some places and not others? RF interference is common with the PT. So if it works at home and not at work, you are fine this is normal. .

Fog lights are a Multifunction switch - DIY job in about a 1/2hr. Save the stealer labor and do it yourself. Common issue.

If it is just the key fob itself, you can usually find them on eBay, and someone here can tell you how to program it to your PT

I have seen them on eBay all the time its not a big deal to program them except I am no longer using mine, The seller should provide the instructions I know that its not hard but I can't remember how. I remember the PT can accept up to 6 Key fobs.

I will check with Mitchell's shortly and let you know, or do a search on old posts. There will be other posts on programing the key fobs
