I wonder if their is a way to track our old PT's...We traded our old 02 Touring in at Tracy Chrysler in Tracy and she looked sooo sad sitting there...And we felt sooo bad about leaving her...She was a great car....Wonder who has her now?
She was Patriot Blue and had the dimple Chrome wheels...Hope someone got her that will take good care of her....PTPreacher

When I traded in my 2001 for my 2003 Turbo it looked very sad, this was on Friday. I had to go back to the dealer the next Monday because they messed up some paperwork and my PT was already sold to some nice lady. I saw a salesman showing her stuff on the car but didn't go over to talk to her. I am sure your Pat Blue with those treasured series one wheels found a good home!

One way, although it costs some money, is to use CARFAX. There have been times that I've been looking for a used car, and I just get a 3 month subscription to CARFAX...I think it was like $20.00 or so. You can look up as many VIN's as you want during the 3 months. I found that our our '91 Grand Caravan we traded with 93,000 miles, was living out it's "golden years" in Florida and had 163,000 miles. These are just facts taken each time a vehicle is titled.

I think you can also get someone to check for the plates and see where it is now....but I don't even remember the plate number now....I guess I'll have to live with the memories....Thanks everyone...PTPreacher

If you have an old insurance document, you can get the VIN from that.

Not sure about North Carolina, but in some states, the plates remain with the car and the owner is registered to the plate.

Here in Maine we OWN our license plates and can transfer them to other cars when it's time.

In CA the plates go with the car...unless they're personalized & you want to keep them. Then I think you pay a retention fee.
