Default Gas prices

We are debating on what route to take up to the falls from Indiana this year. The route last year ( Ohio up through Buffolo) or up to Detroit and over. We have heard good things about the Detroit route, but just wondering what gas prices are currently in canada. Need to see if the higher rates off set the toll roads or vise versa! Thanks for your help! Also we are aware that canadian gas is in liters instead of gallons.

Well here's one anyway. It'll give you current fuel prices at Sunoco in Niagara Falls.

I found this very intresting. They state that gas prices in Ontario and Buffalo are about equal. The Falls price of 69.5/liter equates to $2.63/US gallon or $1.93.8 US dollars /gallon.

There is some quite intresting facts on how prices are set in this URL.

Cool

Hi taupe 02<

IF U TAKE OHIO WAY THE ONLY TOLLS U HIT R IN NY AND IT PROBABLY IS CLOSER TO U IN MILES, RATHER THAN TAKING DETROIT
THE BAD THING ABOUT TAKING OHIO WAY IS SPEED LIMIT IN OHIO IS 55 LAST TIME I DROVE MY BIG RIG THROUGH THERE, AND THEY R REALLY STRICT ON IT IF U DIDN'T KNOW ALREADY

DETROIT TO WINDSOR CUSTOMS IS OK, U SHOULD BE THROUGH THERE IN NOTIME.
THE DRIVE FROM WINDSOR TO NIAGARA IS OVER 400 KMS FOR SURE AND IS VERY BORING TILL U GET TO HAMILTON. THEN U HAVE TO GET OUT YOUR GAS MASKS CAUSE HAMILTON IS OUR VERSION OF STEELTOWN PITTSBURGH.

ANYWAYS EITHER WAY IS OK BUT IF U R COMING FROM NOTHERN INDIANA I WOULD TAKE DETROIT WAY, IF SOUTHERN TAKE OHIO WAY........LOL

HOPE THIS HELPS.....IF ANY OTHER Q PLEASE ASK THE CRAZY CANUCK...........PT CRIZZPY ( RED INFERNO 2001)

Speed limit in Ohio is actually 65 most of the way and 60 part of the way. (If you remember 55, maybe it's because the truck speed limit is 55.)

You can usually get away with about 5 to 10 MPH over without worry.

The route from MI to the Falls is pretty direct- 4 lane almost all the way, 6 lanes in other places. You WILL pay more for gas (about 64 cents Cdn per Liter, there are 3.8 L per American gallon, exchange is about 30-35%) at the road-side gas stations!! If you want cheaper gas, get off the 401 (Hwy 401, we call it the 4-0-1), at London (main city) and top-up there. From there to the Falls is less than a tank, easily.

Maybe come to the Falls one way, and home the other- then report back for next year's drive.

TAUPE02

OK OK..........I AGREE WITH PT SEAN ABOUT THE LONDON THING ( DON'T KNOW WHAT HE MEANT ABOUT 410, MUST BE STUCK ON IT WHEN HE GOES HOME IN BRAMPTON....LMAO) (KIDDING SEAN).
ANYWAYS IF U CONTIUE ON HWY 401 EAST THROUGH LONDON ABOUT ANOTHER 20 MILES OR SO U WILL COME TO A BIG TOWN CALLED WOODSTOCK. U WILL SEE SIGNS FOR HWY 403 HAMILTON, TAKE THAT THROUGH TO HAMILTON APPROX 30 MILES OR SO.
THEN U WILL GO DOWN THE MOUNTAIN BYPASS THE CITY OF HAMILTON ON THE 403 EAST AND COME TO THE Q.E.W HWY.
QUEEN ELIZEBETH WAY.......TAKE THE EXIT THAT SAYS Q.E.W NIAGARA
ONCE U GET ON THAT TAKE IT ALL THE WAY TO THE 420 IN NIAGARA FALLS .
THEN JUST FOLLOW MAP FROM CRUISE THE FALLS WEBSITE.

WHEWWWW I'M TIRED NOW...NEED BREAK....LOL

The only thing you can garentee is that fuel prices will go up. Prices always rise during a long weekend, or "special events" weekend. 600+ cruisers desending on the falls sounds like an event to me!
