Default woody care

I recently bought an '02 with Woody paneling. It looks great and I want to keep it that way. Does anyone have any suggestions for care? Should I care for it any differently than the other surfaces? Thanks.
Mike

We just wash, polish, and wax like the rest of the car. Just be gentle and don't rub too hard - it's only vinyl. We do the same with the vinyl flames on our other PT.

As stated above, use a car specific shampoo to wash your car. Many like to use the two bucket method, one bucket with shampoo and the other bucket with just water to rinse/clean off your washing mitt or towel after washing a section. A water hose works just as well to clean/rinse off any dirt from your washing mitt/towel before washing the next section. Helps prevent the possibility of scratching your paint or woody paneling from dirt picked up by your mitt/towel.

Would suggest using a non-abrasive wax, carnauba or synthetic, not a one step cleaner/wax. You dont want to use a product that might mar your vinyl woody paneling. For locally available waxes, Meguiar's #26 Hi-Tech Yellow or Deep Crystal Step 3 wax , Mother's Natural Formula Pure Carnauba Wax, and S100 (available at your local motorcycle shop) are excellent choices. If you have a local distributor in your area, Zaino is a popular long lasting synthetic wax/polish and is also non-abrasive. There are many other wax choices, many available only through mail order or the internet, and others will post their favorite products to expand the choices available to you.

I haven't had much trouble cleaning the vinyl wood on my Woodie. Just take it easy and don't use anything abrasive on it. Enjoy your ride,I do mine.
