Unhappy overheating

I have an 02 PT Crusier that i bought used it had 13000 miles on it then. It has been overheating ever since, it has been to the dealer 6 times it has a new rad/cap, thermostat and head gasket. I was told by the service manager that Chrysler was having a problem with this and did not know how to fix the problem. I just picked mine up from the dealer with the new head gasket and their comment was hope this fixes the problem. Any one out there know anything about this any help would be appreciated I love my crusier but going to the dealer every 2 weeks is getting old

thanks

I've been here for 3 years....

True, I've never heard of this, myself. The only recent overheat was when 'someone' forgot to reconnect the overflow tube for the coolant. Whoops. I'd throw my ideas out there, but why bother if the dealership should have that knowledge, eh?

Actually, it happened to me when my PT was two years old. It overheated and the dealer replaced the water pump and thermostat under warranty. They said the water pump was defective. Since then, no more problems.

I have an 02 cruiser never had a overheating problem, never even heard about it, i also use red line oils "waterwetter" additive it seems to help the car run cooler. Plus if mx-5 says its not normal then believe!!!

Angry jerked around

Now that your dealer has jerked u around spend $50.00 at a private garage and get a non biased opinion. After the first time the car wasnt fixed I would have been on the phone to the district service rep. If the service manager wont supply it for u call DC and the will.I notice a lot of people treat there 5 * dealer like they are gold. Hafl the time the dealer lies to u . Keep telling yourself that this is the same motor and tranny they have been putting in DC products for years. Treat the dealer with respect untill u are burnned then get mad and nasty. They have to fix your car they are under contract with DC to do so. When they give u a line of crap about this and that look their service mgr in the face and tell that lying no good bum that u want to make a appt for the district rep to look at your car and he can make the call while u are present. I had a problem only once with my 5* bullsh#*#$ng dealer. Now every time I come in they know how I will act . They must earn respect Any dealer who lies to u should have a crankshaft shoved up his butt. I know there are some service mgrs who follow these forums comon and help us dumb carpokes out tel us in your professional words how to get a problem fixed . This would be helpfull comon guys break that code of silence.
